Data harvesting has become a matter of utmost concern because of the grave impacts it has on the victims.
Sadly, the activities of data harvesters are clandestine and is often done without the consent of the owners.
In Nigeria, reports are rife of certain data collection agencies have been accused of selling the data of most Nigerians for as low as ₦100. This has raised concerns of the security if the owners of the data.
In the wake of the above menace, OpporTechies gathered that Nigeria’s statutory data management agency, the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) made a list of five unauthorised data collection agencies/websites that the public should be cautious of.
